ScIC "Science is Cool" is partnering with SciStarter to kick off their Citizen Science Month at ScIC5. As part of our lineup on April 1, you are going to hear them present about 'Science we can do together'.
SciStarter is a globally acclaimed, online citizen science hub where investigative research projects are posted that citizen scientists are needed to gather data from around the world. Citizen science enables people from all walks of life to advance scientific research together and SciStarter hosts an active community of close to 100,000 registered citizen scientists.
Citizen Science Month offers thousands of opportunities for you to turn your curiosity into impact. There’s something for everyone, everywhere! Join a project or event from wherever you are to help scientists answer questions they cannot answer without you.

If you have been to one of our other unconferences, you may have seen a keynote including Neil deGrasse Tyson and Chuck Nice doing a live version of StarTalk.
In discussions about who we wanted for ScIC5, the StarTalk team made it very clear that they love being part of this amazing community of educators. So in partnership with them, we came up with a special version of StarTalk that you are going to love!
Neil deGrasse Tyson and his co-host Chuck Nice are going to have Dr. Heather Berlin on as a special guest star to talk about "The Science of Learning".
Dr. Heather Berlin, PhD, is a dual-trained cognitive neuroscientist and clinical psychologist. She is also an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York.
Get ready for a full day of education and entertainment on Thursday, April 1 starting at 9AM Pacific Time, 4PM GMT.

In March 2020 when learning went fully remote, so did we, launching the first ever ScIC virtual unconference. Four big events later, Thursday, April 1 marks the date of our fifth ScIC and we are more committed than ever to bringing the STEM community together to build a brighter and bolder future. One year later, we continue to work with STEM industry leaders, coordinators, celebrities, school districts, teachers, and trailblazers from all walks of life to build the coolest, most integrated STEM experiences imaginable.
